Technology Centre of the CAS is one of the finalists of the EEN Resilience Award 2020

Following the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Executive Agency for SMEs (EASME) has launched a study on how the consortia forming the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) have dealt with this unprecedented situation. Hand in hand with this came the idea of taking the traditional sharing of success of its clients to a next level. In the EEN network, it is customary to write a so-called success story about each successful partnership. Through it, information about our clients' innovative products and ways we can take the business of our clinets one step forward are shared. This time, all success stories had one common denominator - cooperation with companies during the coronavirus crisis.

The Technology Centre of the CAS nominated a story about cooperation with its long-term client, the company Workswell, which specializes in the production of top thermal cameras and security solutions. Their high-performance MEDICAS thermal camera means a big shift in the industry, and there is no comparable product in terms of accuracy and sensitivity of measurement.

As the COVID-19 pandemic began to gain momentum in Europe, there was a great deal of interest in the thermal camera from the beginning, first from Europe and finally from Asia. In a few weeks, many Expression of Interest were sent through the EEN database and forum. Due to the premium nature of the product and the company's requirements for distributors, negotiations on cooperation are long-term. In mid-May 2020, the first distribution agreement was agreed with a Greek trading company offering security cameras. The delivery of the thermal camera with the assistance of EEN was also made for a Spanish research company. Other contracts are being negotiated. The entire nominated story is available in the Czech version here.

During the summer holidays, all members of the network had the opportunity to vote for the story that they find most attractive. So it was a great pleasure for us to learn that the success story of the Czech consortium was among the top three in the world. The absolute winner will be announced by the EASME internal committee on October 19 during the virtual annual EEN E-Days conference.
