The European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, has issued a tender for a supplier in the form of a framework agreement for the following production services:

• metal forming (extrusion, special alloys, etc.)
• machining (turning, milling, drilling)
• cutting processes (laser, water jet, etching, EDM)
• joining (welding, soldering)
• finishing processes (polishing, plating, coatings)
• 3D printing and other production processes relevant to the project

The supplier selection process will take place as a dynamic purchasing system and will be open to new tenderers for the entire duration of the procedure. Deliveries are expected for the following divisions of the ESS project:

• Accelerator
• Target
• Neutron Scattering Systems
• Integrated Control Systems

The start of the tender is planned for April 1 2020 (date of publication of the tender).

The estimated last day for submission of bids is April 30 2020.

The framework is expected to enter into force on June 15 2020.
